September 2023 Nonprofit Member Spotlight
Hispanic Heritage Month Spotlight - Hispanic Human Resources Council
Hispanic Human Resources Council (HHRC) provides close to 300 children a year with education, nutrition, health, and mental health services in their preschools.
The agency also offers programing for families and works with businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies to uplift children and their families out of poverty and improve their socioeconomic circumstances.
We asked the leaders of the West Palm Beach-based nonprofit to tell us more about their mission.
Tell us about your mission and cause.
As a nonprofit established in 1977 as a social service agency, Hispanic Human Resources Council (HHRC) works to educate low-income, at-risk children and families while providing resources, support, and services to a minority community. Almost 300 children per year receive education, nutrition, health, and mental health services in our preschools. Our mission is to educate children, strengthen families, transform their lives to overcome poverty, and improve their socioeconomic circumstances.
Tell us about your initiatives, and how the community can get involved.
Using the latest technology, we offer quality, bilingual education through our Head Start, VPK, and behavioral health services to young children. Additional programming for families is provided at our Family Resource Center. Centrally located, HHRC works collaboratively with businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies to educate and offer resources, support and services that promote healthy, thriving communities.
How has membership in Nonprofits First benefited your organization?
As a long standing PBC nonprofit, HHRC has been serving the community for over 45 years. As a member of Nonprofits First, our organization and staff have benefitted from the educational programming and resources offered. Regulations, accreditation requirements, and best practices in a multitude of areas are constantly changing. Nonprofits First has been at the forefront of helping us through these changes. Together we ensure that the community is better educated.
