March 2024 - Celebrating Women In Our Community
"Wherever women gather together, failure is impossible." - Susan B. Anthony
This month, Nonprofits First is putting a spotlight on women who run local companies and are making an impact on our nonprofit community.
One of them is Deana Pizzo, CEO of I.T. Solutions of South Florida and a board member of Nonprofits First. Her company made the list of Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies!
Another is Angela Ball, CEO and founder of the nonprofit, Hearts for Moms, in West Palm Beach.
We asked Deana what it means for her to be a successful female entrepreneur, and why giving back and being involved in community service is important. Here’s what she told us:
To me, being a successful female entrepreneur is not just about achieving personal success or receiving industry accolades. It's about creating something of value, generating opportunities for others, and paving the way for future generations of women to succeed. It's also about showcasing that women can lead with both conviction and empathy in male-dominated industries, such as technology.
As a native of Palm Beach County and the founder of I.T. Solutions of South Florida, I am passionate about giving back to the community that has given me so much. I believe that supporting local nonprofits is crucial to maintaining Palm Beach County as an ideal place to live, work, and raise a family. My commitment to philanthropy is rooted in my deep appreciation for the opportunities that this community has afforded me, and I am dedicated to paying it forward for future generations.

We had the same questions for Angela and here’s how she responded:
As founder and CEO of Hearts for Moms, I get to combine my entrepreneurial spirit with my heart for nonprofits. It’s been a privilege to work on behalf of single moms in our community and over the years I have been amazed at the many skills and talents these moms possess. So much so that we recently launched an entrepreneurship program aimed at tapping into the hidden potential of these moms. What better way to give back than by empowering a single mom to become her own CEO.
